Ive got an opportunity to buy a 1986 Larson 215 Delta Conic 21' cuddy cabin with 3.7 mercruiser. Also comes with 1999 trailer. Everything hull wise looks fine but he said the motor developed a knock about 2 weeks ago, but it does still run. He is willing to part with it for $1200. Any thoughts?

Ayuh,.... It's worth Only the value of the Trailer,... Little or Nothing more....

The470 motor is Mercruiser's red-headed bastard step-child, that they Know is going to Go Away,.....
They Don't support them anymore....

Agree with Bondo on the value.
I rigged a lot of 215's in 86 and 87. They need at least a V-8 to run well in fresh water. They also had a problem with wet carpet in the cabin floor --- seems the floor was too close to the hull. Might want to check for rotten wood there. The DC-175 and DC-195 ran up OK with the 3.7

i agree with both of them but for $1200 i would do it just for the project. unless it is rotted out i do draw the line there.

Thanks for the replies! Haven't had much experience with these boats.
