What do you guys use?

I have a 2005 Bayliner that is equiped with a Mercruiser 3.0. I was wondering what some of you long time boaters or experts use for oil and filters. I know what the manual recommends and don't want to start a debate on which is better. I just seems that there is always an alternative to the inflated OEM prices and sometimes you get better parts. At least that is what I have found in motorcycling.

If you do a search on the subject you will find every opinion that you can think of.<br /><br />I use Mobil 1 15W-50 and AC oil filters myself.<br /><br />Oh no!<br /><br />Another oil thread!!!

Ayuh,........<br />I run Mobil 1 15W-50 in the Engine,+ Mobil 1 75W-90 in the Drive......<br />And,....<br />NAPA's rebadged Wix filters.......

My next door neighbors' uncles' hairdressers' cousin has a gardener that told me that mobil one causes oil leaks, is that true

Not only do I like peanut M&Ms, but I also like Almond Joy better than Mounds.

I use Mobil 1 in every engine I own. You'll never go wrong with Wix or Mobil 1 oil filters.

Using synthetic was a concern of mine. The owners manual discourages it and of course calls for Mercury branded 25-40. I use Mobile 1 in our car and truck, and use Amsoil in both of my bikes. Pure One filters for everything.
