hey tohatsu guru, is mercury made by tohatsu (the new 4 strokers)???

In the U.S., Mercury from 30 hp and down are Tohatsu designs and built by Tohatsu. The rest of the world gets those as well as additional Tohatsu models badged as Mercury engines.

Don't forget sound. The sound of an outboard is all part of the boating experience.

Evinrude E-TEC .... especially from 75 HP and up, has got a great induction roar IMHO. Nothing quite like it.

There are as many different answers as there are different people with different priorities and different applications, Mike.

Nobody that has a high profile makes a bad outboard and every outboard made is the best for somebody.

Personnaly, the ones that I prefer are thoses that are already paid!

Yea I under stand that it is all a matter of oppinon I have had johnson 85 horse and mercury 85 horse maybe it is just me I dont understand they are the same horse and both run good but the merc just seems to blow the other one away. I maybe looking into buying new motor for another boat Dont know what it will be yet. I like the yamaha but they are just to quiet for me you cant even hardly hear them run LOL
