What do you think about the motor being inside garage ? Just had it serviced before winter used it about five times, changed the plugs. Now should I just drain the oil. Or should I just drain it abit too check to see if there is water?Any opinions would be great. Thanks for the help

Keeping a motor inside, will never hurt it. If it's something that looks nice, it'll preserve the paint a lot better than keeping it outside. What kind of motor is it? If it's a large motor that is hard to just lift off the transome and move indoors, you can purchase a motor cover to keep on it over the winter months and save your back:cool:

yea, I hear some bring small outboards in the house/basement, thus avoiding cold temps all together. I keep my motor in the garage where its convenient to tinker with over the winter. The boat/trailer goes in storage over the winter.

Anything under 40 hp, I tend to store inside. I have a 25 and a 6 and both got new pumps and gear case oil before I put them in.

Mine is outside year round. Winterize it properly and you should have no issues.

Yea, a 140hp would be best to be left attached to your boat and stored outside.:D:D

not a bad idea to change the lower unit oil, But make sure it has oil in it before storage.

Just don't use plastic for a cover where ever stored. It will hold condensation which will cause a rust problem.
