optimax should stand for fix it daily......If you aren't replacing injectors, air injectors, air compressors on a yearly basis there is something wrong... My neighbor spends $2000 dollars a year at a minimum on his 150....I will stick with the old carb two stroke as long as possible...burns more gas yes but so easy to fix when a problem arrises...don't need a computer or tech to fix it.....

If he's fixin' all these things on a regular basis, maybe he should learn how to maintain his rig. These have been very reliable motors with a very low operational cost in my experience. Got several on customers boats with no problems, one guy has a pair of 2000 200's that are approaching 5500 hours with no major repairs yet. With that said... I also love the simplicity that comes with the older carb jobbers. Something about the smell of a heavily oiled 2.5 litre V-6, and the scream at W.O.T!!
