I recently inherited a boat (info in sig) and don't have manuals or anything for it yet. What oil & weight do I need to use for both the engine and for the outdrives?

I would prefer something I can get at local auto parts store if its good stuff.

TIA!

Thanks! On the drive oil, its the quicksilver straight 90 weight? Image attached.

For the engine oil, I'm having trouble finding 25-40 of anything. Walmart.com has one from Evinrude but it must be shipped.

Would 15-40 Rotella T6 work? I use it in pretty much everything from my diesel truck to my lawnmowers. But I'm new to boats, so want to make sure.

15w40 is fine...

For the drive, I believe high performance gear lube is 90 weight...

I've used Chevron Delo straight 30 or 40 and later on switched to the Merc/Quicksilver 25/40 which is available everywhere here...I'd love to see a test between the 25/40 and the available 15w/40s to see if there is any meaningful difference....

for the drive, I used to use the OMC Hi Vis stuff but the Merc High Performance gear lube works just as well and is much easier to find everywhere, been using that 10+ years with no failures.

If you are asking this question, you did not look at the site. You have to put your serial numbers (both the engine and drive) in, then you buy the exact manuals you need. That is the factory portal, and it covers all years.

I did look at site, it didn't ask/require serial numbers. From the link you sent, I clicked on the Mercury MerCruiser image, then 8 cyl link, then it showed the applicable manuals.

No worries though, using the images achris showed, I was able to find some used ones on ebay.
