What engine to get for 8.5 foot Zodiac?

What engine to get for 8.5 foot Zodiac?<br /><br />I'm really steadfast on 4 stroke as lakes in California demand it and I like the cleaness too. And quiet and efficiency.<br /><br />The boat (8.5 feet) says it's rated to 4hp but I'm thinking of a 5hp Honda 4-stroke. There is one for sale around where I live.<br /><br />The other option I was thinking of is Honda 2hp 4 stroke but thought the extra power of a 5hp would be worth it.<br /><br />I would appreciate feedback as I've never powered a Zodiac other than with oars. <br /><br />Thanks,<br />JEREMY<br />East Bay, CA

the briggs and stratton 5hp is 4stroke and i think<br />it's ligher than the honda.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Go with the briggs. They retail for less than $700 NEW.
