This in on a 1953 Evinrude Big Twin 25hp. I am not sure what happened here or what that protrusion is suppose to be but at some point has interfered with upper shaft during turning. This picture is taken with motor mostly straight and not turned. The part which has been broke away appears to be pushed out slightly but but a lot. Can any tell me what happened and what the nub is?
