Hello, I have a 1976 Endura fish/ski boat. Actually the registration says its a runabout. It is like a tri-hull hybrid, hard to explain. Any way.....I cant find any information on Endura boats ANYWHERE, all I can find is Endura boat related products. Does anyone know where I can find information on the Endura boat company. Im interested in when and why the company stopped making boats. I would also like to know all the specs of my boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: What happened to Endura ?

there were hundreds of boat builders across the country in the 1970, especially when Allison's "patented" V bottom tri-hull was copied by just about every small scale fiberglass shop. I have a 1974 Luck Strike, ever heard of that boat manufacturer? It was a low budget knock off made by Bowling Green Fiberglass Works in kentucky. The only difference on these copies were the top cap, different floor layouts

Re: What happened to Endura ?

I'm with restornator. Many, many small manufacturers, mostly regional, started and failed within a short period of time.

Unless it became a cult classic, or they were bought by another company that survived until the inception of the internet, chances of finding anything are pretty slim.

Google can turn up interesting info, tho- I suppose you know by this time there was a line of boats in the '50s called Endura Craft. Google directed me to fiberglassic.com where I found this:

Boat Company started somewhere around 1955 with a small line of boats. (about 4 models) They were a division of Dorsett Plastics Inc. which in 1958 became what we now know as Dorsett Boats. The name "Dorsett" didn't appear on boats as the manufacturer name until 1958.

Much of the style of the famed Dorsett boats came from the early Endura Craft line including the famous Catalina.

Not really relevant to your search, but kinda cool anyway.
