Well all my 1979 55hp evinrude thats been rebuilt started squirting water out from between the exhaust adapter plate and the powerhead. I had to troll about 2 miles home becuase I didn't want ot run the engine any longer. Got her to the house checked compression first and one piston was 140 and the other 150. Looked at the seal and there is a spot where it didn't appear to be sealed good. I've ordered the part and hopefully will get it in a couple days. I always keep an eye on my water pressure gauge and saw that it never sropped pressure. Do you all see any possible complications that may come out of this. I had just purchased my infared thermometer and it read 165-170 and it was after a 5 mile trip to that point running straight back from our fartherst out point. So whats you all thought? Ive pulled the head and there appears to be no piston wear nor scortching of the walls. When I first tested compression was 150 and 150 on both, now its 140 and 150, should I be worried and is there anything I should do to hcek anything else I should be looking at?
