what happens if the trim fluid comes out?

I have a '94 Force 50, I am trying to install a new trim motor, the problem is the engine is not fully trimmed up, it is about halfway. when I try to unscrew the fill plug oil starts to come out b/c of it being only trimmed halfway, If I go ahead and unscrew it, let the fluid drain, install new trim motor, then trim it up and fill the fluid back up will that be okay or will it allow air bubbles to form or hurt the ram?

OK to let the fluid out.

You can refill it.
It can take some time to refill and get the lines and cylinder filled again.

Fill, run, fill, run, fill, run, ..... till it is full.
