What if my engine calls for a 1:25 miture and I have been running a 1:50. Would that cause any of the problems I was talking about in the thread "O.K. What do I check now???"

I forgot what your problems were, Spur. If your engine survived 50:1 it probably didn't cause any problems other than excessive wear and maybe overheat.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB

Actually, It ran for a while, then I couldnt keep it running. I would pull on the cord and it would sound good for about 2 seconds. If I tried to give it any gas at all she died.<br /><br />I always wondered what the bone in my finger looked like, after about 300 pulls I almost got to see it. Yes I am whining. My 13 year old was back at camp for 3 hours wondering where dad was. He did get a fire started and the tent up, proud of him for that fer sure.

Hi Spur<br /><br />At least you cant blame your dog this time. <br /><br />The required mixture includes a safety margin, as manufacturers know not everybody are very carefull mixing, and oil is better now as it was years ago. JB is right - nothing probably happened.<br /><br />Many things can happen, but your problem sounds like a fuel problem. I have a guess.<br /><br />Some small piece of crud loosened from your tank/fuelhose/carb and block main jet or passages in carb. Clean again. Or the diaframe broke when started to work, as motor has been sitting that long. Check if it gets fuel - and check spark. A third guess: You forgot to tension a breakerpoint or something else vital, end it went loose. Check spark. Dont give up !!!

LOL, oh yea I forgot about my dog. Shes doing fine.<br /><br />I know Im getting spark. I bet the diaphram was wealk from sitting up. I will check that first. I need to get my manual in so I can attempt a carb rebuild.
