What height should transom be?

I have a 12ft avon inflatable with a 20hp mariner approx 1986. Can anyone tell me what height I should make the transom? Any suggestions are most appreciated. Many thanks Murphoir.......

Probably 15 inches...and your motor probably is somewhere about 17 from the bottom of the clamp, to the top of the bigger flat plate above the prop
