Just purchased a '65 Alumicraft 12 fishing boat. Does anyone know what the recommended max HP is? It's currently wearing a Johnson 5.5, same year, but if it can handle my 9.9 I'll try it as river running requires a bit of speed to get upstream. I'm also curious as to what all the aluminum castings are for that seem to be riveted all around the boat. A couple about 10" below the oarlocks and some in the inside near the transom. I'll try to get some pics posted. It seems to be in incredibly nice condition for a 45 yo boat. I can't wait to load it up with catfish!!
