I had a '88 35hp Force that over heated after installing new impeller. Had a overheat buzzer that sounded. Shut motor off at key switch. Replaced cracked water tube from pump to power head. FIXED!! Its not always the impeller!!

@ Bryan - Agreed, many things could cause a motor to overheat. I simply stated the problem MINE had which happened to be the impeller. We should do a search here & find out how many times the impeller fixes an overheating motor..bet it's in the majority!

Well I took it out today, water was coming of the motor like it should have, for sitting all winter long it sure ran good, knock on wood.

Not too impressed with the power, only topped out at 35mph, 125hp.

Oh well, runs which is all I really care about..

Lots of factors in speed with a 19 ft and a 125. Load:people, fuel, equipment etc. The correct prop and WOT/RPM.Motor running correct etc.
A simple thing of not using your trim correct can make as much as 5MPH difference.
I have a 21 Bayliner with twin 85hp.Top I ever got was 33MPH.
I changed them to a single 225Merc and now only get 45-50MPH.Plenty fast.J
