What if you suspect water in fuel?

I keep my boat with F100 and F6 stored on trailer outdoors in my driveway (not by choice) uncovered except by boat cover. I did not add any fuel stabilizer to its built in tank and am concerned about possible condensation or worse in terms of water in the fuel system.
Should I siphon and discard whatever fuel is in the tank? Or will I be safe just replacing my water seperator filter and perhaps putting in some sort of additive? Someone mentioned a product called "SeaFoam". Last year I neglected to replace the filter (in lieu of just draining the water bowl at bottom) and it resulted in a big bill for carb rebuild. The kicker motor was affected as well and I just took it apart and cleaned it out last weekend. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You did not mension if you have a racor unit or a standard (looks like a car oil filter) unit. So I am assuming you have a standard unit.

I would replace the filter and empty the contents into a glass container. Check for water or junk in the gas, If it looks ok replace with a new filter. Add seafoam (good stuff) and run the gas.

If it looks like water of heavy junk in the gas, drain the tank.

Hope this helps, MW

I would give the gas a good smell test too. If it has started to turn bad you will know it by the smell & color any - doubts dump it!
