What is best Battery to buy?

I am trying to figure out what is the best battery to purchase for my trolling motor... also one for my Boat Motor... does anyone have any thoughts on what is the best battery on the market... ie.... Gel... liquid... dry and so forth...

Liquid.<br />Local battery shop or farm supply brand.<br />Marine battery, one starting, one deep cycle, size 27.<br />$50. <br />Take care of it and it will still be going strong for 4 to 7 years.

try optima or trojian(<---spelling?)they cost more but are worth it.

I bought Wal marts deep cycle not because its a good battery but i can return it when she fails.

As with any product. Maintain it and it will last. Follow directions for battery charging(deep cycle or starting) and you should get 4 years plus.

In the latest issue of Powerboat Reports Magazine they tested wet-cell deep cycle batteries.<br /><br />Without reprinting the entire article their top 2 choices were:<br /><br />The Deka DC31DT at $83 and the Interstate SRM 27B in a very close second place.<br /><br />Keep in mind that the Deka DC31DT is a Group 31 case size battery and that Interstate is a slightly smaller case Group 27 battery so that battery box size might be an issue.
