I bought a Merc Oring kit (P/N 811612A 3) for my power trim unit. It came with a Manual release valve, which doesn't seem to fit my unit. The P/N for the Manual release valve is 893929A 01. Anyone know the P/N for the manual release valve in the Oring kit?

On the parts schematic there are 2 trim pumps listed one w/removeable pump housing one w/o. Assuming you have the removeable housing 811612a3 is the o-ring kit listed, and 893929a01 is the listed MRV. It should all be proper. When you removed the old MRV the tip didn't break off inside the hole? Was the o-ring kit sealed?mrv.png

Thanks for the reply. The old MRV was a PIA to remove, but I did get it all out. I had to drill it, dig out the plastic fragments from the aluminum threads, and use a 1/8"pilot hole and sheetrock screw to pull out the innerds. All orings were intact, but I had to pry on the sheetrock screw to get it out. It was black.

The Oring kit for my motor contains a new tan MRV, but it doesn't seem to want to fit. It measures up almost exactly the same as the original, but tapers are hard to measure It will go in until the threads are 1/4" short of the PTT body threads. It would take a hammer to get it in any further.

The question I have is pertains to the new MRV in the Oring kit. Is it supposed to fit my motor or not? I have been unable to get a part number for the new MRV, contained in the Oring kit.

I don't know, but it sounds like the right MRV.From here.
It measures up almost exactly you said, Don't know how it goes in.
Do you need to tap the threads clean, did the threads get chingered when you removed the old MRV.

Do you by chance have your engine serial number handy just for a double check?

There seem to be a few different types of manual release assemblies including some from Sierra Marine and doing a basic search of 811612A 3 shows it may only fit certain engines such as Fits: Mercury . MOST but maybe not all engines 135 to 250 HP years 1999 to 2005. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercury-135...JYHf0L&vxp=mtr

Also being that you bought an OEM kit, generally the kit will come with some sort of paper work that may tell you all the part numbers for each of the individual parts that come in the kit...As a paper work example, this kit in the following link seems to have the paper work in it and if you zoom in on the 2nd photo on the right side, you'll see just to the right of where it says "relief valve", there are some quantity numbers there just a bit more to the right. There ought to be some part numbers to the left of those numbers if you received that same type of paper work in your kit ?.

Tom, I chased the threads with a tap. The new MRV threads don't even reach the PTT threads. The MRV will not go in the extra 1/4" needed to mate the threads.

Fun, The serial number of the motor is 0D269120. The paper that came with the oring kit does not give individual part numbers. Interestingly enough Merc V6 motors from 1992-1993, 1998 and 2006 seem to take the same MRV, but some take different oring kits, FWIW.

I was hoping to find out whether the MRV that was thoughtfully provided to me with the Oring kit would fit.

Fun, I was able to read the bulletin. The tip of the MRV was not broken off.

I have the three ram, design II PTT unit.

I guess I will need to explicitly order the 893929A01 MRV. I had hoped the one I received in the Oring kit would fit, but is looks less likely now. Good thing it is offseason for that boat.
