What is it???

You will have to for give me if this is a dumb question, pretty new to outboards....

I have a 1970 60hp triumph. I noticed that I had a small oil spot on my garage floor. Traced it back to a 1/8in hole above the water intake. So what is this hole for?

There is also another one just like to below the water intake...

Should there be a small about of fluid leaking from this hole?

If the oil is black, it's just residual oil from the exhaust coming out the weep hole. Nothing to worry about.
