What is it?

I drug home a new project the other day and am trying to figure out exactly what I have. I usually drag home cars, trucks or military vehicles but this time it is a boat. The data plate on the dash has been replaced with an aluminum piece with number stamped on it. The transom cover or motor mount pad says Glasspar on it. It is 13 1/2 feet long and has a johnson RJE18C motor on it. I think it would make a great playing/fishing boat. Any help would be great. Thanks

Re: What is it?

Welcome to iboats.

Please get yourself a pair of water muffs to run the outboard. It is a safer method for the outboard. I have seen too many people run the water right out of a drum and damage the engine.

Nice boat..... more pictures please!

I bet that would look great cleaned up!

Re: What is it?

Your outboard is a 1956 30HP Johnson.

Fuel mix is 24:1
Spark plugs are Champion J6C, gapped at .030".
Magneto points are set at .020"

Re: What is it?

The drum was to small and I need to get another fuel tank due to the fact that the one that I got with the boat is rusted out. I was going to put the motor in a 55 gallon drum to test it once i get a tank. I can not find any pics of a boat that has the same design as this one. I need to do some floor repairs.

Re: What is it?

I think I figured it out. It looks like a 56 or 57 Glasspar Club Lido dual cockpit that someone cut the center section out of. That would explain the repair work that has been done to the inside of the boat on both sides that is falling apart. It is where the center sectin used to be.

use the barrel, the leg has to be submerged atleast 1/2 way as the water pump is not self priming. great project. it will be fun.
