Simple one here for anybody that has a factory manual I hope.
1992, 90hp 3cyl Force by mercury, Merc thunderbolt ignition,
What is my final drive ratio?
I can only google the Merc gearbox and that tells me 2.31 which is what the boys over in the prop forum are assuming.
Last night I tried to cross check it:
Put the motor in gear at the powerhead(so cant remember if it was reverse or forwards but shouldnt matter right? ).
Then marked the prop with the motor at TDC and the slack taken off the prop, then
turned the flywheel clockwise.
The flywheel was 6 teeth short from doing 2 full rotations after the prop had done 1 full rotation.
I counted the teeth on the flywheel and came up with 98.
Anybody?
