What is the automated save post thing ..

When Im typing a post I always see the auto-saved every 30 sec or so.. what does this function Exactly do ? MODS please explain .. .. now it seems that every time I am typing its coming up with the Auto-save .. but while typing .. Im going to test this now is about .. im thinking ................................... 30 sec .. now I will wait .. just got another 30 sec auto-save .. I will wait for over 1 min to see what happens .. .. No keystrokes for over 3 min and NO Auto-save ( I have been tapping the "Shift key" every 10 sec and still no auto-save ) ..

So what gives with this Auto-Save thing .. does the ( there it goes again .. Auto-Save ) type go when Auto-Saved .. .. Data base before my post ( there it goes again .. ) is actually posted ? ...

MODS please explain in simple terms of this Auto save and how it benefits me ..

It just keeps you from using the back button or going to another forum using the Quick navigation menu without posting your reply. It's just a warning so you don't loose your post thinking you posted it and actually didn't.

Here is what you would see if you were to hit your browsers back button after typing a reply.

But .. when the post is saved does it go into a database as a saved "non-posted" reply ?

Meaning When it saved the post is that in the MODS or Admins data Bank Before I actually click the "reply" button ? ..
