What is the fastest you have gone on water?

I have an uncle that had a 24' Fountain with 2 427s putting out 450 hp each, got it up to 83mph, couldn't talk him into letting me drive for some reason.

Pretty scary.

My boat will only go 30 and the fastest I have actually driven one was 47 on a pontoon of all things, not nearly as fun as the Fountain.

I have been to about 70 mph in a friends bass boat.That was a wild ride in that small of boat that sits that low in the water.
My boat tops out at 42.

47 on a pontoon???? Are you sure that wasn't a catamaran??? Jeeez, I dont know, all I have ever done is putt putt over a grass flat on one of those, and when he pushed it we must have been doing all of 25.

Hell, 47 and I would be swept off the deck.

You are a brave man, 5150...

Fastest ride was the wifes boss' Yamaha Exciter. 270 hp 16' would hit about 65.

Had a friend's jet flea up to 75 (speedo, not GPS) at the lake a couple weeks ago. Super-charged Sea do. The acceleration was incredible.

Boat goes 40. That's really fast enough.

I really don't know how fast we were going, but on a friend's go-faster bass boat on a cold morning about sunrise, with my ears pinned back against the sides of my head and totally frozen to death, it seemed like 100. Man, you gotta hurry if you want to catch them basses, huh? Personally, I prefer my 32mph tin boat.

A friend of mine has a 28' Mannerfelt B-28. The hull was made in Sweden and he had offshore racing legend Bobby Moore rig it with 600HP.
The day I took a ride we hit 81. He tells me it'll go 90. I believe him. It will literally fly.
Here's an image of my buddy's boat in a crowd. Believe it or not, it even has A/C in the cabin!

They hang some crazy motors on the company boats, I think that one was a 250 V-max on a 22 tri.

I am told the boat in the picture will get close to 60 with the Yamaha 350 on an elliptical center tube, of coarse it is eating 32 gallons per hour at WOT.

The fastest I have ever heard one of our boats going was 62 which I think is a little crazy on a toon.

We built a boat for Earnhart Jr earlier this year, 28' I/O and it was ordered "delete motor" so you can imagine what went in that.

I agree, I will be content with my 30 MPH, an average fishing trip burns all of 3 gallons of gas.

We had a 21' VIPER Coral f/s, with a 225 Merc Opti, that was GPS'd at 78 mph, we thought that was fast enough.

Our present boat has been up to 55 mph, according to the speedo.

That "Batboat" is a really good looking boat !!!!!!!!!

My boat GPS'd at 46MPH. Fastest I have been personally is on my old 24 Sleekcraft, had a built 440 olds, didn't spin up past 5000rpm but topped out at 55 - 60 and had tons of off the line! Miss that boat.

About 75 in a ex coast guard boat with twin 200 merc utboards. Driver said it had more in it but water was a bit rough nd he didn't want to push it.

My Sea Ray tops out at 49 mph on the speedo. Haven't had a chance to check it with GPS yet. In any event, it is plenty fast enough for me.

that is an oke mannerfelt triple stepped hull "bat boat"

the mold is now owned by the owner of campion marine in kelowna canada....
the boat with a 10 cyl volvo will hit 85.....(manufactured under the name "vector") we got three of em on the lake.....beauteful

the hull has now been streached....the owners have been contracted by mannerfelt to make a kevelar racing boat to be sent to europe.....they expect over 125 mph.......

the fastest i have ever been is in the late 80's in yellowknife n.w.t canada....a 16 foot ski boat with a 150 merc on it.....73 ish on the speedo.....(gps?.... ha! bill gates couldnt have afforded one back then.....
i was doing a remote brodcast for the radio station...(cjcd) when we did that....we raced a car that was listening to the broadcast running parelell to the lake....we beat him......my eyes were so full of water and i was screeming into the radio phone........what a ride !

2 weeks ago i was on lake ontario in a buddys 38 ft power quest with twin 496 mags and we hit about 75 man what a ride

84 by GPS in a friend's Fountain 32 Lightning with dual 7.4L Mercs off the coast of NC running parallel to the shore. It was the craziest ride I've ever taken in my life and that includes skydiving.

hit 57 mph on gps in my last pwc, once. it was the first of the 4 stokes. a yamaha fx140....
boat i have now does 41ish. gps.... waiting for cooler weather to see if it'll go a shade faster..... not like it really matters though. i usually don't do wot much. musta got tired after having a pwc that top speed is mostly what it's about.... besides. what i have now is more of a cruiser than a speed demon....which is fine with me as i get old(er).....

ive been 127 mph on my dads Triad river rocket tunnel hull 17.5' 2.5 merc pushing around 340hp.. he had it for about 4 months then he made the mistake of letting my step mom go for a ride and she made him sell it.. scary stuff(but fun) but i grew up going fast most people dont realize how fast that is on the water.. he had a couple of allison drag boats with 250-300hp motors that would run ~100mph when i was younger..now he has a 23' cobalt how the times have changed lol
