I have a 08 21ft party barge.

im having an issue with the throttle being very stiff and sticking, especially when downshifting.

thread here:

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=2821148#post2821148

im trying my best to troubleshoot the issue, but ive run to a problem that is as annoying as it is stupid..

nowhere, and i mean NO WHERE can i find what model# for the throttle on this thing. it just says "mercury" on it.

I found a pic

and the reference "binnacle"

but im still in the dark more or less.

apparently its an OMC throttle, so i checked the OMC site, no throttle matching that pic to be found.

Well, that helped, to a degree.

I managed to find a few diagrams of it, but none of them shot the internals really, just the outside parts and screws for mounting, and even those are not labeled with names, they just have corresponding part #s.

so im still dead in the water, but at least now my pain now has a name, or a part number.

I have the same throttle on my 09 Party Barge and last year was having the same issues as you. This summer it is operating much easier and smoother. All I did was take it apart and grease the internal cams and bushings. There is a adjustment screw but it is only to adjust the friction when shifting out of or into neutral. I will agree with you in saying it is the worst I've ever had.

well where is the screw to adjust the shifting? mine is kinda tough to shift in and out of gear. would be nice to make it a tad easier.

think I would help if i just opened the side and went ape**** with a grease gun? or do i need to take it all out and apart?
