The one I am asking about is a 1998 Center Console about 21'-23' long. A neighbor has it for sale and it looks to be in excellent condition and seems to be very well cared for. What is the reputation of this boat?

Re: What is the reputation of Trophy Boats?

Trophy's are a low end fishing boat brand made by Bayliner. The "newer" ones (and that would include this one) were much nicer than the older ones which really just looked like Bayliner runabout hulls with a center console. That being said....brand names are fairly unimportant when it comes to used boats. It's all about how well they were cared for. If this one was as well cared for as you say then I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. It doesn't have a Force outboard on it though does it?

Re: What is the reputation of Trophy Boats?

I have a 1998 19 foot center console Trophy, and it is a solid, no-frills boat that is great for my needs (fishing). I HAD a Force motor on mine when I bought it. I now have a 150 Optimax. The Force broke down on 4 of the first 6 trips I took with it. The boat is great, however. Well-built, and fairly easy to work on when necessary.

I have a 1999 17' Trophy center console w/ 90h merc. It is no Yellowfin, it is decently built and seems to have held up OK for the abused life it has endured.
