I pulled my risers not long ago to inspect due to one running really hot. No blockages or anything, seems fine.

Anyhow both risers have these weird attachments on them. CAme with boat when I bought it a few years back. A

Anyone have any idea what they are for? They had hoses on them laying in the bottom of the bilge with a bunch of sholes cut into them as if to suck up water or something.

What kind of engine / boat do you have?

Looks like part of the water cooling distrubution system.

Ah, its an Anti-Siphon Check Valve. Quoting Fishhead-1 from another post

"It's there to allow air into the exhaust if a suction is created on the exhaust side from a backfire or wave action. Basic check valve you should only be able to blow through it one way. Take it off try cleaning out and blow test it. If the hose is getting hot from exhaust gases it's leaking. Mine is charcoal engine also but efi and haven't seen them, maybe only carb engines used them don't know how long."
