Seller's desperation, condition, and market are what dictate the price. NADA is really worthless for valuing a boat. Interior can be shined up pretty easily and inexpensively to distract you from real, expensive issues. I take interior condition with a grain of salt. Are you knowledgable about engines? I mean KNOWLEDGABLE?? That's where most of your expense lies. That's what determines if that boat is truly worth 12k or 6k. That's also where people tend to find out after the fact that they spent WAY too much money. An engine in extremely poor condition can me prepped to sound great on muffs.
If you're looking to spend that much money on the boat, do yourself a favor and hire a marine surveyor to look it over. They're not cheap, but 300-500 up from could save you thousands later.
