Took an old boat seat apart today and snapped these off. Basically they hold the backrest to the actual seat. They are on the backrest, and you push them into the seat. What are they called and where can i get 3?

Google:

Plastic Trim Clip

And dig thru the results until you find them in the color, style, diameter & length you need.

From my automotive background I'd check a Napa, O'Reilly, Carquest, Bumper to Bumper, Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, etc... They look very similar to a lot of trim clips used in cars.

Yes go to Napa or the others and check their "help" rack. They'll be close. Door panel clips.

You might try Dorman Products, Same company as HELP! products.....Not sure they will have exactly the size you are looking for but you can probably come up with something that will work. Put trim clips into the keyword search panel.

Ok. I've tried multiple places in person and online and can't find these, at least in the size I need. They need to be 1.75" long and 5/16 diameter. ... Any more ideas out there? Thanks in advance

Not sure what m6.3 means... 'm6' typically means 6 millimeter, so I guess 6.3mm is the required hole size for the things to grip in.. too much bigger of a hole, and i likely wont hold well. Quick calculation for converting either way from metric to imperial/inch is to use the number 25.4. In this case, you have mm, so you divide 6.3 by 25.4, giving you .248" (multiply to go from inch to metric) That is basically 1/4", (.250") so I don't know if they will grip and hold well in a 5/16"hole.. 5 divided by 16 to give you the decimal equ. of 5/16, is .312" ...so you are talking about 1.5mm, or .062" (that's a 1/16") difference in hole dia.

US Metric
(Millimeters)
1/161.6
1/83.2
3/164.8
1/46.4
5/167.9
3/89.5
7/1611
1/213
9/1614
5/816
11/1617
3/419
13/1621
7/822
15/1624
125
1-1/829
1-1/432
1-3/835

^^^ So M6.3 is just under 1/4" diameter, so look around the granger site, might find an M8 or M9. Or figure out the maker of those pins, and look for a site that sells a larger version of their products...

Re: what is this called and where to get?

this is to put a boat seat together, the backrest onto the main seat (maybe you can see from the picture). If i can't get this to work, any ideas on how to stick this together, seeing as how I don't have access to either side?

The push pins/rivets/trim clips attach to the backrest and then push into the main seat. In the first pic you can see the heads broke off all 3 when I pulled the pad off. (I bought the seat on craigslist for 10 bucks and had reupholstered, now trying to reassemble). The 2nd pic shows no access to front, and also none to back. 3rd picture just for fun :)
