What is this part?

This part comes off a Merc 500 1969. It had the distributor attached to it. I need to know the name of the part/assembly to describe it. Anyone know what it is called?

timing assembly? its used with a belt attached to it and the flywheel is attached to the belt and it spins sending spark at the perfect time

Looks like the distributor housing, economizer collar, and distributor pulley. Check out this site for microfiche drawings with probably better descriptions http://www.mercruiserparts.com/SelectModelType3.asp?class_id=2

It comes in several pieces as ian said, but correct name is ignition driver shaftand pilot.
