That's the switch to turn on the other 20 horsepower. Very secret stuff.

Kidding, that's the manual valve for the primer. Leave it like it is for proper operation. You activate the primer by pushing the key in when it's in the "On" position.

only time you would have to move the lever to the other position is when you are starting the boat via pull cord. that is the manual override lever for the primer solenoid. as Dhadley stated, pressing the key during an electric start activates the primer
