I just bought a newly rebuild carb for my boat and got the guys intake too. I got it yesturday and the setup looks nothing like mine. This is all for the GM 3.0 mercruiser in my 86 chris craft. There is a small line coming off the exhaust port on the manifold going into the carb and also a strange linkage and adapter plate bw the carb and manifold. Here are some pics so you guys can help me out here. Do I still need to use that exhaust pressure line or whatever that other setup is for when I put it on my motor? I was planning on just swapping the carb over with an adapter plate, my throttle cable only runs to the back side of the carb, not all the way down the side of the manifold. Thanks, im still new to this

well after looking at it some more, I think that the exhaust pressure line is for the choke, but I am still not sure about the other mechanism under the carb. Any input?

That is for your throttle.
Your right about the exhaust hose. The heat from the exhaust controls your choke. You can convert it to electric if you want.

Thats all its for? seems like an overly-compliated way to do it. Thanks for the info. I guess I will just take all that stuff off since I dont need it for my setup

I have heard that all Mercury Marine Carbs are painted black, so just by looking at the photos, I would think it is.....I suppose anyone could paint a Carb black, but why would you go to that trouble?

Umm, I believe so. It was on the guys boat and he had it rebuilt by some company in FL just for the boat, so I am assuming that it is. How can I tell for sure? From the number on the bowl, the rebuild kits are all for marine apps.(17059052). It looks like I will just have to swap the intakes tho, the carb linkage goes down below the mounting base and that would make fabbin up an adapter plate a lot harder.
