What is this yellow disk?

I bought the drive gear shim set, and with it is a yellow-white disk that's 3/4 " diameter. What is this for? I couldn't find it in the manual's exploded view of the upper unit, and I couldn't find any information in this forum.

BTW, it took me a few tries to get the drive gear shimmed properly. What a pain!!

I'm assuming you are talking about a cardboard looking disc. I believe it is there to prevent the shims from rusting. It has a dessicant of some type.
