What is this?

Just recently inherited my grandfathers 1986 16' cajun bass boat, with a 90 hp mercury on the back end. This is my first boat and have found this site very helpful so far. I was wondering if anyone knew what this yellow thing is used for, or its purpose?

looks like a hose barb from a built in tank. could be a vent or a deck pass through for portable tanks.

Look under the splashwell and see what's connected to it and where it goes.

Just a rubber or vinyl cap that your grandps osed to keep the fitting from leaking fuel.
