I think you are talking about the choke solenoid, Charlie. The cylindrical part with the linkage to the carburetor.

Thank this is my first big outboard just got it running after new stator, rebuild carbs; new triger and one new switch box just replaced water pump. dose it work off key ;on start up if needed i still need to time it.
P.S. look at the old water pump

LOOKS LIKE THE IMPELLER IS "TOAST" , good idea to replace, alos looks as if some of the impellar blades are missing, could cause blockage further up stream from the water pump to the tell tale "pee hole" with LU off back blow thru tell tale with compressed air to make sure all is clear and free of bits and pieces,
sorry mis read on h20 pump change, :facepalm: ?? works off key ;on start up if needed i still need to time it . if refering to h20 pump should be peein at start up at least within a few seconds , unless your motor has a thermostat then it will take a bit longer until it opens up,

thank I find all of the impeller part I hope? I still need to time it 115 been reading about timing do I want it at 463 or 21 at 6000or800 rpm?
