OK I'm kind of lost here. Is this a normal sure lube system? What is the whole in the back of the spindle for? before I cleaned it up there was a mountain of grease from where all the grease came out of this hole. After I cleaned up the mess I took my air hose and blew into the hole to see where the hole lead to and it lead to the little hole you see in the third picture. All I know is something is missing from the hole in the back of the spindle Pic #4 because a mountain of grease was piled up there. Any help would be apprehended.

This diagram from the website appears to be your Sure Lube spindle/hub. The hole in the back is how you see if all the old grease is flushed out and yes. it makes a bit of a mess if you don't wipe the grease off after lubing the hub.

OK so I have a new problem. I just got done trying to pump the new grease in. First off I changed the bearings, racers and new seal so all the old grease was removed. As I was pumping the new grease I was watching the back of the spindle for the grease to start coming out. After a few inches of grease started coming out I looked to the front grease cap where you put the grease in and noticed that the grease cap topped off.

Why would the grease cap pop off from pressure? Isn't that what the little hole on the back of the spindle is for? I had to remove all the grease from the grease cap for the cap to go back on, there was to much pressure for it to go back on with the grease still inside. I was able to get it back on, but now I don't know if im done or if something is wrong inside? is there supposed to be air inside? The grease cap is empty now.

So I just did the other wheel and everything went perfect. Im guess I have to take the first one I did apart tomorrow and see if the drain hole got plugged somehow.

Two things could be happening when pumping the grease in;
1st pump slowly because the pressure from the gun may be too much to be relieved through the bleed hole.
2nd, the bleed hole and drilling may be partially blocked with old, hardened grease.

The best way to do these is pack the bearings normally and then use the Zerk to top it off.
