What kind of battery do I need?

My 85' - 18 hrse merc has a electric start push button and I was wondering what kind of battery I need? Can I use a lawn & garden battery or a pwc battery? If so, how many mca or cc amps do I need for an 18 hrse?

Wait for the experts here but You will want a battery designed for deep discharge cycles. A Marine battery !

Group 24 marine deep-cycle. Plan to charge it every so often, your engine will be pretty anemic at doing so ...
