repair the door lock on a '98 Explorer Sport? Oh yeah, you'll need more details...V-6 SOHC, green with gray leather trim.<br /><br />Drivers side door wouldn't unlock. With some help from the guys at ford-trucks.com, I managed to open the door and remove the inside panel. Found a broke spring inside the latch mechanism. Couldn't get it back in the tiny area where it belongs so I engineered my own solution with a longer spring routed outside the latch anchored to a different point via a 2/0 Gamakatsu kalhe hook.<br /><br />Tried a 5/0 red gammy EWG offset - looked way cool, but just couldn't get it to work right.
