What kind of mineral oil do you guys use for inital break in?

Ive decided to use mineral oil for the initial break in of this flat tappet 350 I am almost done building. I also am going to get some zinc break in additive.


Any suggestions?

Hi Guys:

If memory serves, the manual calls for straight 30 weight oil. Why not try that?

Ayuh,... I start out with some of the oil We use in our fleet,...
Rotella 15W-40....

Pretty sure break in is different. Some say a thin oil some say mineral oil. I seem to remember Don saying he uses mineral oil for the first 10 hours but I may be wrong.
