what lower unit do i need?

Hey guys,
I have a 1990 175 hp evinrude outboard (E175STLESE) that is in need of a new lower unit. Could someone please tell me what years for lower units that would be compatible with my engine. Also, how do i figure out the rotation that i need for my new lower unit?

Look in the "Top Secret File", there is an interchange chart there might help you out. There is also a list of salvage yards there that might also help you out.

Most outboards are standard rotation. Sometimes twin OB installation have counter rotating gearcases. if you have a prop that pushes the boat forward, when spinning CW (from behind the boat), you have standard rotation.

SEI makes new OB gearcases. You might check to see if they have one for your application. Used will be cheaper, but not a lot cheaper.
