What mercruiser is this?

The only sticker on it says mercruiser 377861. Any ideas what year or HP this would be? Need to know so I can get the proper repair manuals.

Seller said he thought it was a ford 302 in the range of 1974-77.

It Sounds like an 888,.......

That's a Ford V8,..... With an ole Mod.1(aka. Pre-Alpha) Outdrive.....

Good motor, you need Merc. manual #2 for the engine.....

thanks. especially the part about "good motor". I will likely be back on the site for more advice, or my dad, it is his boat.
