No title or registration?

Post 1984 Bayliner followed the HIN and manufacturer date code assignment like others manufacturers, the last 2#'s of the HIN the model year: 1988.

Looks like yours was built in February 1988 & released for sale as a 1988 model.

You can cross check the date here

Re: what model is this bayliner

I ran the numbers from your link jbcurt , it says that CA denotes the model I am wondering what CA is, when I look for parts they want the model number ie..1950, or 2050 but I am not sure what it is

My best guess is that the 1950 means 19.5 feet in length,..

And the 2050 means 20.5 feet in length,.........

Look for info online for 1988 models. You should be able to find at least 1 to compare to yours.

Bayliner can't supply the model # if you have the serial #: EIICA and have the HIN Manufacture date & model year?

Unless you typed the HIN inaccurately: BPIEIICAB888

I find that hard to believe. A Bayliner dealer (or whoever you're asking for parts from, unless it's via the internet only) should be able to provide that info for you.

If not, contact Bayliner directly via email or phone: (360) 435-8957

Via email, they ask for the HIN on the form
[h=1](360) 435-8957(360) 435-8957[/h](360) 435-8957[h=1](360) 435-8957[/h]

Re: what model is this bayliner

If the link I posted isn't the correct Bayliner decoder, I may be wrong, but per that info, the CA isn't a model designation, it's part of the serial #.

Did they make more then 17576 (maiximum # of possible serial #'s w/ 3 letters, using a 26 letter alphabet, cubed) of your boat in 1988?

If so, then the model wouldn't be a portion of the serial #, they'd need the extra digits as part of the serial#. If they didn't, then perhaps it is the model #.

And 1950, could be anything greater then 19' and shorter then 20', boat manufacturer's clearly can't read an english or a metric tape measure.... May be more accurate now. 'Newest' boat in my fleet is at least 35yrs old, probably older.
