I have a 125 HP Force motor and was wanting to know what model it was. On the motor it said ...<br /><br />L898404<br /><br />I found a tag that said....<br /><br />Model: 1251X9B<br />Serial: 1139<br /><br />Anyone know what model this motor is? is it a 89?

A marine parts store can tell what year the motor is

The model is 1251x9b<br />It is a 125 hp. (the first 3 digits)<br />It has a 25" shaft length ( the 4th digit)<br />It was made for a Bayliner boat ( the "x")<br />It was made in 1989. (the 9)<br />It is from the "b" production run, meaning it will use components different from "a" production run, or "c" or "d" production runs.<br /><br />It <br />What else do you need to know about it?

Is it worth putting about $500 in? It needs steering cable and tilt/trim. motor runs on muffs

take apart the pump and the motor. you may be able to replace the o-rings. My tilt trim did not work and they told me i needed a new pump. turned out to be a broken o- ring

well when i bought the boat someone had took it apart and let it set with the cap off so now its full of dirt and rust. i dont think it will be fixable.
