What model Starcraft is this??

I saw this Starcraft on Craigslist for $900. Don't know much about it yet but the price looks right.

Anyone know the model and/or year? Thanks.

if you can ask the owner for the HIN, the members here will be able to help you out. the last two numbers should be the year.

i would buy it for $900 for sure........if it floats and runs

Looks like a 16' Jupiter from the early 60s to me

I'd be a bit wary of that 50hp as it looks to be a similar vintage electric-shift model. They are known to be finicky and not many marine mechanics will work on them.

If it runs well it may be worth checking out though. I'd talk him down on the price unless he can take you for a test ride. You could buy a similar boat and trailer without a motor for much less.

in fairness, not many marine mechanics will work on motor of that vintage even if it ISN'T an electric shift. good news is that they're seriously simple to repair yourself.

Not trying to be argumentative here but we've found in most cases the numbers don't really mean anything according to model or year(for Starcrafts).

Normally, we would need length, transom height, width at widest point, a shot of the bottom of the stern, stock color (seriously, they made the boats a specific color each year) and sometimes a seat layout for correctly naming the smaller boats.
