What model ?

I was able to find a serial number off one of those silver plugs on the powerhead.

I read a post on here where a member was able to decode the serial number and give the person the model number and year.

I was wondering if someone can do this for me?

I bought the motor and boat from someone I know, and they say its a 89 johnson V4 VRO 90.

Just curious if this is true.

Model number is what is required. It should be on a plate on the transom bracket. Sometimes its on a core plug but thats not it.

Model number is what I am looking for, my transom plate is not there

and thats it on the core plug...

I recently read a thread where someone gave the model info from the serial number.

thats why I asked this now.

You can call a dealer and have them run it the the BRP archives and they can tell you: year made,date delivered,date sold,HP, purchasing dealer and customers name & state if on record. Yes you can get a lot of information off that plug!!! If you cannot get any dealer to help ya ,pm me and I will make a call....
