We were out in our bowrider for the second time ever this past weekend and my 9 year old son looks at me and says, "This is so much better than sitting downstairs playing video games." I think I almost squeezed the breath out of him when I hugged him!

Gotta love that stuff!!!!!!
Cherish every second.

I'll never forget the first time my son asked me to take him fishing.HE SKUNKED ME!!!!!!
He hauled in a 4lb bass AND a 5lb northern on a two foot long Mickey Mouse Zebco.
Yeah he was 4 years old.

PS--I did help a little.

I don't remember when my son would rather do anything better than fishing. I sure felt blessed. He's 41 now and still catches more fish than I do. I still feel blessed.

Re: What my son said...

A neighbor of mine told me something that struck me while I was getting his opinion on boats that I was eyeballing. Now, keep in mind that my boys are only 9 and 5 right now, but he said,

"If you want to know who your boys are and who their friends are as they grow up, then own a boat. They will always want to hang out with you on the lake during the summer."

What he said really made me think about how things are in our country today with parents and their kids and I came to realize that anything that can bring a family together in such a fun and family-friendly environment HAS to be terrific. I think buying a boat may have opened the door to better life.
