What NOW?!

Well today I finally got a chance to try and dial in my carb. I grab my kit, all the edelbrock carb info you would ever want to know and off to the river I went.
I get on the river and there are people everywhere having a GOOD time. Didn't want to get in the way of that so I went down river some to a quieter place about 4 miles south. Everything is going well and I am getting close. Then it happens. I shut off the boat to try another metering rod change. After I am finished I try to start the boat and nothing.... Battery seems dead except that the trim and power motor deck still work. Everything up at the helm goes backwards, crazy, or does nothing when I turn on the ignition. No start either. I turn it to ACC and all the ACC stuff seems to operate. I think I lost a ground or have a bad connection but I am not sure yet. When working airplanes it is usually a bad ground when weird things like this happen. Anybody have any words of wisdom before I tear into it tomorrow? I have diagrams so that will help. Anyway found a guy to pull me all the way back to the ramp, wouldn't take any money either. I am glad that I have always lended a hand to broke down people. I was quite surprised at the number of boats that acted like they didn't know I was stranded. But they were having a GOOD time unlike myself. Towing a boat slowly for 4 miles can put a dent in a good time. HEHE..

Re: What NOW?!

Electric is electric rather on a boat or an airplane. Checking the connections is the first thing to do, then there is checking with a meter. No "words of wisdom" regarding what to look at first. Just get the meter out and see where the power stops.
If it sounds, and acts like a bad ground. IT's time to start checking grounds and other major connections.
