Hello all, i have an Avon searider 4m with a 50 horse Nissan from 92 or 93. While the engine is in good working order, i have no intentions of spending money on it when it breaks, as parts are non existent. Whatever i replace it with in the future will most likely be a used engine. What older models have the best support and parts availability?

Just in case you didn't know....OMC is Johnson/Evinrude.

The Nissan is a Tohatsu. Granted parts for them are probably few and far between as well.

the 80s Evinrude /Johnsons are pretty bullit proof and parts are readily available and being made by after market suppliers so the supply should be good for years to come, they are simple as a stone and easy to work on.

God willing my '81 50 will never break but I know I can get whatever part I need if it does.
