Hey I got this bag, part 0396522 float valve part kit in my carb kit. I cannot figure out what the silver spring/clip looking thing is on the lower center of the picture. I swear I do not recall taking one off when I tore the carb down and my service manual does not show the part. Maybe it is a part to another year and that kit is made to service several years? Mine is a 1972 25hp Johnson in case you have missed my other 25 questions in the last two days! Thank you as always!!!

It's the spring clip that clips into the groove in the needle and hooks over the arm of the float. It helps pull the needle away from the seat if it sticks. It might not have had one if the previous needle was all metal.

Hmmmm....OK my new needle does have that groove where my old one did not have a groove so that makes sense. Looking on google I can see how it should go now. I would never have figured that one out!!! Thank you
