What pitch should I go with?

I have a 1548 alumaweld running a 2000 30hp tahatsu 2 stroke. WOT as of now is around 25, 2 people and fishing gear. I don’t have a rpm gauge. I currently have 9.9D 13 pitch 3 blade aluminum. However it’s badly chipped and 2 of blade tips are bent pretty good. I was going to order a OEM prop which I believe is a 14 pitch. It’s unavailable so there’s that. A local shop has a 11 pitch but I’d like a little more speed. But don’t want to over pitch it. TIA

Unless you can get a tach to know where you are in terms of WOT rpm i would stick with the same pitch. Everyone wants more speed but unless you have enough power to swing more pitch your performance will be worse.
can the local shop fix yours ?

I doubt it, it’s in rough shape. For 60-80 dollars I’m not worried about it. I just wanted an opinion on it. I wished I could tach it, i dont know how too. I know it’s just a Jon boat but I’d like to see it’s full potential.

Those 2 stroke Tohatsu motors comes factory overpitched with a 13 pitch prop, change it for an OEM 3 blade 11 pitch, will experience a nice water improvement running near its max 5800 wot rpm range...

Happy Boating

When I think about what set those excellent pitches apart from the rest, it turns out that they all shared some of the same qualities. If you employ these nine tips for taking a good pitch and making it great, you’re going to give the kind of pitch that stands out to investors, too.
