What Prop Pitch ???

I have a 1983 Mercruiser 260hp, Alpha 1 on a 1983 21' Searay. I think it has a 14 1/2" prop with a 17 pitch. It gets up on plane real quick and easy and runs about 38 to 40mph at 4200 rpm. I damaged the prop a little while putting it on the trailer and I am going to replace it. If I stay with a 14 1/2" and go to a 19 or 21 pitch will it increase my top speed without decreasing my ability to get up on plane? What size and pitch do you experts recommend. Thanks a lot.

Prop questions are usually asked in the Prop Forum......
And,...
I'm pretty sure this 1 will get Moved,...

But,......

Your motor is Maxed out at 4200rpms with the 17" prop...
You just Don't have any Horsepower left to go faster, with a bigger prop.....
Anything Bigger is just going to turn it into a Dog.....
